Dhurmus Suntali Foundation is on process of constructing Integrated/ Unified Model Village for flood victim of Terai region. Since first day of flood in Terai, foundation is distributing relief material and struggling for the relief on time to flood survivors. Hence, foundation have announced for the construction of integrated village for survivors of Rautahat district.
During distribution of relief materials, Dhurmus Suntali shared the pain of loss of livelihood and internalized need of natural calamity resistant village for the survivors for minimizing the danger of natural calamity like flood in coming years. After real situation analysis, field based study and monitoring, Foundation has decided to construct model village in Chandrapur Municipality-8, Santapur, Rautahat. The village is resided by 280 populations of 45 families of Majhi, Dusadh, Lohar, Musahar and Hajam tribe. The population is surviving underprivileged, below poverty line before flood and after flood the livelihood is very pathetic, they are struggling even for basic need. Most of the children are deprived of education; meanwhile the problem of illiteracy and unemployment is static.
As in earlier projects, this time too foundation will construct Integrated Model Santapur Village Safe, Modern, earthquake resistant and follow the guideline of Nepal Government. Each of the houses will be of two storeys with four rooms, a toilet, a tap and a garden. The entire village will be surrounded with wall with attractive entrance gate. The integrated village will of a total of 45 houses, one temple, public tap, public toilets, a community hall, a guest house and a view tower for watching village. According to Manager of Foundation, Mr. Arjun Neupane, the estimation budget of total village is 5 Crore 75 Lakh.
Dhurmus Suntali as in the former projects appeals help from all helping hands for flood survivors this time. A small support from our level can improve livelihood of needy people and contribute in the national development.
